Shiny New Things: December 2011- January 2012 Hauls

Not a gigantic personal haul done over Xmas, moreso, pressies for my team.

Although, MOH’s Xmas pressie to me was off the hook! Lemme show you…

Yep, an iPad2 plus a pink cover!! Hooked me up with Beyonce’s new scent, Pulse, a pink vinyl Domo, some cupcake lipglosses and a cupcake notepad. Super cute! My man knows me so well :D

I loves it! I have been on this thing nonstop since December 25. MOH already has one so now we’re twinsies :P

My company sent out this gigantic gourmet chocolate hamper which included everything Lindt, Baci, Guylian, plus a copy of the Michael Buble Christmas CD and David Campbell’s Let’s Go (back to the 80s) CD. This below is one set of choccies that were in the hamper.

(I forgot where the big pic is, atm.)

One of my team gifted me with some beautiful perfume bottles, cute socks and a large pink Domo :D

Because I worked all through Xmas and Boxing Day, I missed getting out to the sales. I had a couple days off over New Year so I made sure to get out to a shop or two to take advantage of the sales.

SATC 1 & 2 Blu Ray Set and perfume haul

  • SATC set- onsale for $14.99!!! Holy focaccia!
  • Cosmic Radiance EDP by Britney Spears (didn’t even know this existed) plus was given 3 gifts- the gold clutch, the gold wristlet and a nail polish bag by Sally Hansen
  • Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture- been wanting for ages and found this size at a fantastic price!

Colette/Target/Priceline/Kmart Haul

Needed a new handbag, spent a half hour walking up and down the store, trying to find the perfect one that would fit all my junk and not break.

  • Beige tote with gold hardware
  • Studs, Hoops, Rings in silver and/or black
  • Nail polish in lavendar and pink glitter (wearing at the moment, just gorgeous!)
  • Lee Stafford travel pack- has my fave hair product in it- a dehumidifier! Love to bits!!
  • Hello Kitty book cover- I know it’s childish but I want to cover my work diary in it :D
  • Eyeliner & Mineral Foundation top ups

The Hills & Equip Haul

  • Hills boxset- $56 on sale, for all 6 seasons. Now, I can possibly get rid of my American copies of Seasons 1 and 2. Miss this show, seriously.
  • Bracelet sets, rings and studs
  • (not pictured) Restocked underwear, basic tees and tanks for the new year as well. Some fantastic bargains, esp. at some of the places in my local shopping centre. The centre is being opened up on one side for expansion so the stores that are being demolished/walls broken down first, have started vacating and therefore, practically throwing out the stock.

Anyway, that’s it for another month or so, haul wise. Got bills to pay soon so I don’t expect to be hauling a great deal for a while :(

Shiny New Things: July Haul & BDay Gifts To Moi

I got cracking on the shopping early this month and actually remembered to take some pics (OMG, whatever came over me to do so?)

Plus, I also thought I’d do myself a favour and buy some earrings for myself online instead of waiting for they style I want to appear in Colette, Equip or Diva.

4 Pairs of Earrings

I bought them as a gift to myself for my impending doom, I mean, birthday and timed it just right so they would arrive a few days before. I am totes in love with the brown stone and pearl ones- since getting them the other week, I have worn them to work about five times- now, that’s love!

The next tiny package showed up a couple days after my birthday but in great shape and a second pair of earrings were sent as a bonus gift! Yay! (Did they know it was my birthday?) The teddy bears are the bonus pair. I have a huge love for large stud earrings at the moment (that’s the old lady kickin’ in) and these black sun earrings have a matching ring I want to get as well. Maybe next month, though…

2pr earring and b'let

And the last item is actually my last birthday gift from MOH, a bright silver Guess watch that looks like a bracelet more than a watch. I bought myself one of these type years ago and the battery just stopped working late last year (too lazy to get it changed) and MOH has been looking in many OZ shops to find a similar one to no avail. But now I got another one and this one even has a cute Guess question mark as a charm on the band, too!

Now, my goal is to save up for a gold or rose gold Guess in a similar style. Or settle for the rose gold Michael Kors I’ve lusted over for 2 years…

Lady Times: Beauty & Fashion Q&A

To be honest with you, I have never nor will I ever be a fashion/beauty blogger. Not that I wouldn’t like to be but all my funds go towards new beads, jewellery, pink stationery or my current obsession, Blu Rays. (If we lost either of our PS3s, I would be heartbroken.)

I prefer to live vicariously through other fashion and beauty bloggers, oohing and aahing from my desk ;P

So, here is my take on some beauty and fashion questions. I guess I will see at the end of it how little I invest in my own style. Maybe it will be time for a change…

1. What is your signature fragrance and if any, do you have a fragrance you will never buy again?

My signature fragrance is Diamonds Intense by Armani (Intense is better for a longlasting scent than standard Diamonds.)

Shiny New Things: eBay Shopping Haul

The few days after MOH bought me my brand new dopi (32GB iPod touch, 4th gen), I went straight to eBay and checked out the different designs of cases I could tote my dopi around in. I also found myself shopping for other stuff that I didn’t need but you know when you start shopping, it’s hard to stop.

I have to mention that I never buy in bulk off eBay unless I have shopped with the seller before or the order is for beads and findings. I really enjoy going to our post office box and finding a few different packages, all for me.

It’s like a mini-Xmas!

I copped the following items:

Pink Sakura

The dopi cover in Pink Sakura from Model*Chic. Love it so much, I have already got marks on it from using it everywhere :)

Shiny New Things: Spotlight FAIL Brings On Shopper’s Remorse

Well, I ventured out in the rain yesterday just after lunch time to indulge my creative buzz Ihave going on this week. I was all set to go to Spotlight, which is supposedly one of Australia’s top arts/craft/furnishing stores, with dreams of awesome new feature beads, awesome chains, all colours of findings and my beginning obsession of shiny rhinestones (for when I start blinging stuff- MOH better hide that iPad, hehe).

Now I usually know this store like the back of my hand. Not anymore, it seems. I walked straight to the beading aisle and found scrapbooking crap. Like this doesn’t already take up enough aisles as it is, it’s now taking over my beloved beads too!? So I moved around the aisles a little more and found the glue I needed but still no beads. A little bobbing and weaving through more aisles and finally found the beading section. It is now a pathetically diminished half aisle, a shell of its former self- the glory of two full aisles sides fully stocked and always overflowing.

Nevertheless, I still found a few bargains and some things I actually needed. Although, their rhinestone section is craptacular. I was beginning to really regret visiting after I finished up my shopping.

Shiny New Things: Tiny Shopping Hauls

While on Annual Leave this fortnight, I have indulged in a few things I normally don’t when working everyday- wine in the middle of the day, chocolate, making new pieces for my jewellery collection (last time I made jewellery was for my team’s Xmas gifts), watching tacky and funny youtube clips and listening to my extensive iTunes library in shuffle very loudly.

I decided to get out of the house the other day and do a tiny bit of grocery shopping but found myself buying random things for myself too.

The haul as follows:

the Priceline haul

Priceline- I am nuts about beautiful scents especially in body washes and that Lux brand is fantastic. The light pink and maroon one are for me as they go with my bathroom decor, hehe (read: it’s Pink themed.) I got face and feet fixer-uppers because I haven’t looked after my skin so well in the past few months (read: Xmas, Sales, neverending!) and my feet are starting to get very sore from the shoes I wear. I will have to partake of those soon. The tips are for my upcoming attempt at a pedicure. I won’t show the results but I can only imagine well (read: disastrous) that will turn out, hehe. Usually, I buy an effload more from Priceline but since January, I have already spent up a grand on health and beauty products there.

Life At Random: Am I A Waster? And Do I Care?

Okay, so I’m one half messy, one half super-duper clean. I got the super clean part from my stepdad, he was constantly tidying our home back in the day while my mother made a mess as soon as she walked into a room. And anyone who reads me on a regular basis knows I have an obsession with stationery and an uncanny ability to ruin a new desk set up within a day of having it.

So my quest on the netz today, was to look at different sites that showcase home offices and furthermore, dual home offices. MOH and I share our 2nd bedroom as an office that doubles as my beading studio and his rested art studio (ooh, aren’t we all a bit lah- dee-dah? haha…)

We don’t have cable TV, we gots us some fine ol’ internetz so we are in our office a lot.

I have tried in the past few months to change up my side to make it a lot more palatable to the eye as my beads and jewellery can get out of control when I am on a roll with those creative juices. (The vacuum cleaner is well employed in in the office). I will, not meaning to but always doing, leave my bead trays all over the desk, displays standing everywhere, tools randomly shoved in pen cups, etc. All of that paired with the paperwork I try to work through at home makes for an ugly stepsister of a dual office compared to MOH’s clean as a whistle, modern and simplistic side of the office.

I was looking for a new idea to possibly implement to tidy up my side, AGAIN.

So I found this site: WhereWeDoWhatWeDo.com. And it’s friggin’ awesome but here’s my qualm about some of the items I saw placed in offices…

I saw just regular people and their offices, with more than one computer on nearly every desk. I thought to myself, aren’t we trying to be a little more conservatory when it comes to energy and power and all that stuff to fix the environment?

And then I realised, f*%k, I’m making the problem worse too- I’m runnin’ two monitors and own a netbook that I am currently tryna get fixed. Plus I got this lil HP iPaq that I run occasionally for work. So, WTF am I doing with 3 computers? I am a waster, aren’t I?

But you know what: just like Lily Allen said “I am a weapon of mass consumption”. And you only live once, I think. So I guess I don’t care ?!

It Is Now A Workstation

Hey hey, I’m back from cleaning up my desk and thangs. Unfortunately, I don’t have a great lot of room to move furniture within our office but I did try. Here’s some pics:

Kept my HSM lamp (geez, I’m such a douche), Little Big Planet cutouts, baby pic and some work stuff close at hand. All the other drama is on the coffee table-turned-bench next to my desk.

Feels similar but less uncomfortable. I really need to hit up IKEA, methinks…

New Year’s Resolutions: 27 down…1 to encourage

So, I guess with the turning of the year a few days ago, I should probably put my NY resolutions out there. Not only so it can be read but so I have somethig solid to look back on at the end of the year when I am reminisicing about what I did or didn’t do.

Here goes:

  1. Drink more natural beverages- water, juice rather than all the V guarana drinks I literally hook an IV up to
  2. Get fit- nuff said
  3. Learn how to drive- yes, I am late bloomer. I’ll get around to running you over soon enough
  4. Take more photos- this is also going to be a pet project for my other half. My interest is strictly fun
  5. Save at least a $1000 a month
  6. Try to shop online more than in retail and be early when getting presents ready
  7. Try to say yes to all invitations
  8. Catalogue all our belongings for insurance- I have been meaning to for the past year
  9. Work smarter, not harder
  10. Sell some of my jewellery pieces online, finally
  11. Separate my two workstations- I currently bead and watch DVDs  at the same desk
  12. Cull the clothing again- anything that hasn’t been worn in over a year is to go
  13. Be more punctual
  14. Help out more around the house
  15. Get some of my works published
  16. Finish 2009 with 10 times more than I finished last year with- 2008 finished with $2500 so whatever that is times 10
  17. Go on holiday and enjoy
  18. Look after my health more so I don’t get sick so much
  19. Try to be nicer
  20. Don’t procrastinate anymore
  21. Be more organised at work and let the organisation run rampant
  22. Sleep more healthily- don’t oversleep ‘cos the year will get away from me
  23. Enhance the cologne collection of my other half to reflect mine
  24. Try World of Warcraft
  25. Stop being a wuss and get back to the HSM3 and Cheetah Girls 3 DS Lite games that I said were too hard
  26. Try new foods in moderations- 2008, we tried prosciutto, swiss cheese and jarlsberg cheese
  27. Always have a bottle of wine handy
  28. Have a Happy New Year!
