Shiny New Things: December 2011- January 2012 Hauls

Not a gigantic personal haul done over Xmas, moreso, pressies for my team.

Although, MOH’s Xmas pressie to me was off the hook! Lemme show you…

Yep, an iPad2 plus a pink cover!! Hooked me up with Beyonce’s new scent, Pulse, a pink vinyl Domo, some cupcake lipglosses and a cupcake notepad. Super cute! My man knows me so well :D

I loves it! I have been on this thing nonstop since December 25. MOH already has one so now we’re twinsies :P

My company sent out this gigantic gourmet chocolate hamper which included everything Lindt, Baci, Guylian, plus a copy of the Michael Buble Christmas CD and David Campbell’s Let’s Go (back to the 80s) CD. This below is one set of choccies that were in the hamper.

(I forgot where the big pic is, atm.)

One of my team gifted me with some beautiful perfume bottles, cute socks and a large pink Domo :D

Because I worked all through Xmas and Boxing Day, I missed getting out to the sales. I had a couple days off over New Year so I made sure to get out to a shop or two to take advantage of the sales.

SATC 1 & 2 Blu Ray Set and perfume haul

  • SATC set- onsale for $14.99!!! Holy focaccia!
  • Cosmic Radiance EDP by Britney Spears (didn’t even know this existed) plus was given 3 gifts- the gold clutch, the gold wristlet and a nail polish bag by Sally Hansen
  • Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture- been wanting for ages and found this size at a fantastic price!

Colette/Target/Priceline/Kmart Haul

Needed a new handbag, spent a half hour walking up and down the store, trying to find the perfect one that would fit all my junk and not break.

  • Beige tote with gold hardware
  • Studs, Hoops, Rings in silver and/or black
  • Nail polish in lavendar and pink glitter (wearing at the moment, just gorgeous!)
  • Lee Stafford travel pack- has my fave hair product in it- a dehumidifier! Love to bits!!
  • Hello Kitty book cover- I know it’s childish but I want to cover my work diary in it :D
  • Eyeliner & Mineral Foundation top ups

The Hills & Equip Haul

  • Hills boxset- $56 on sale, for all 6 seasons. Now, I can possibly get rid of my American copies of Seasons 1 and 2. Miss this show, seriously.
  • Bracelet sets, rings and studs
  • (not pictured) Restocked underwear, basic tees and tanks for the new year as well. Some fantastic bargains, esp. at some of the places in my local shopping centre. The centre is being opened up on one side for expansion so the stores that are being demolished/walls broken down first, have started vacating and therefore, practically throwing out the stock.

Anyway, that’s it for another month or so, haul wise. Got bills to pay soon so I don’t expect to be hauling a great deal for a while :(

Shiny New Things: August 2011

Some mini hauls this past month. Nothing too egregious…

A Priceline basics haul… not much to report except for the continuation of hair lightening and adding some new colours to my eyeliner repertoire at a better cost.

A Target/Priceline haul… Picked up the soap dispenser from Target, to go with the pink bathroom. It may, one day, look like the inside of a …… you know what, lol (gross!) Really depending on mineral makeup a lot more now that hair colour is up a few shades and I don’t want to buy any more liquid foundation to suit. Mineral makeup seems to allow my face to breathe better and I think it works far better with my current primer by FOA.

A Kmart/Priceline/Price Attack haul

I don’t love BYS polishes but I was sure willing to try a matte top coat for $4, just to test it out. And I’ve wanted a mid pink crackle polish for a while so Kmart did me right. Priceline, on the other hand, ran out of my most beloved product of my year, the Lee Stafford Poker Straight Dehumidifier and only had the tiny version again. I freaked and thought I’d better get it anyway ‘cos I was about torun out at home. But while there, I decided to drop some cash on an old favourite- TreSemme’s heat tamer and a newbie to my haircare routine- Frizz Ease’s 3 Day Straight. BTW, I straighten my hair with a straightening iron so a product that says 3 Days Straight shouldn’t only work with blow-friggin’-drying! Epic fail. That crap shall stay in the drawer ’til forever.

But guess where I did manage to get good service, the item I wanted and a decent price? Price Attack! They only had the large cans of Poker Straight, cheaper too so I bought two right away. Plus I didn’t get any backhanded compliments from the saleslady, like I sometimes do with the little whiney teens who try to run Priceline. There is so much to be said for great customer service. And Price Attack get a gold star from me!

A steal from Target- it’s a straightening iron mat and travel case Price? $7, that’s lunch money, b*tches!

Lady Times: July Hauls

I’ve been worried daily about my hair colour and the state of my hair after multiple dyeings, thrice weekly straightening and lack of serum input. I decided that this weekend would be it, I would put my worries to rest and buy something out of the norm for me.

Early July Haul

A shampoo and conditioner I have never used before as well as the leave in serum in the Schwarzkopf brand. When it comes to washing my hair, I am extremely dumb and cheap. Even MOH uses a better brand than I do and he has way less hair than I do.

The results have been steady. I only had to straighten my hair once this week and it stayed for 3 days! I tonged curls into my hair today and the ends didn’t look craptastic! I also got MOH to trim my hair by a few inches the other night so I could start anew with the new products. The shampoo and conditioner smell great and the leave in conditioner has a shimmer to it. So far, so good!

Oh, has anyone else noticed that nearly every store that sells cosmetics now sell their own brand of makeup wipes? Yes, even Woollies and Coles! It’s good to have the alternate out there ‘cos there is no Priceline at my work and the one at my local shopping centre is always out of the best products.

I used to use strictly Johnson & Johnson’s facial wipes- the pink package, at about $6 or $7 a pop but around $15 for a 3 pack but decided to try out Priceline’s many versions (after it not being available on 3 visits in a row) – Vitamin E (pink), Cucumber (green), anti aging and a few others, which do the same job but a couple dollars cheaper. Unfortunately, I’m not the only one who has this idea to save money and try something new out ‘cos the Priceline brand is almost always out of stock now and the price is increasing due to demand.

I tried the Australis wipes and they smelled so disgusting I threw 2 and 3 quarters packs out. There was something vomitous about the smell, I couldn’t apply that to my face.. Face of Australia’s wipes are great- good texture, smell pleasant and do the job but a little pricey.

The Coles & Woollies ones are about $1- $1.50 a pack and did the job, with a just-tolerable scent. The price is so much better than the cosmetic house branded type, but with a lot less moisturiser/cleanser embedded in each wipe.

And alas, I bring you the two types Kmart has to offer- fragrance free and green tea. They’re only 2 bucks each, do the job and smell like they say they will. Fragrance Free stays true to its word- no scent! Green tea smells like a very light green tea. The only problem here is there’s no texture to hold onto your face as you wipe down so you have to start from the top again and move down in shorter wipes. I’m holding out hope that their manufactures will bring a light textured side to the wipes to make it the perfect facial wipe!

Anyway, review over… here’s some more junk I added to my collections…

Kind of a belated b’day gift to myself.

Have had Myer giftcards and b’day voucher burning holes in my pocket so I finally got the new Beyonce perfume, Heat Rush. It happens to be Beyonce’s official second scent (as her Tommy Hilfigers don’t count) and seems more of a day time version of the original Heat (which I blogged a while back.) I got the free Heat EP (with Bey’s version of Fever on it) and a limited edition Heat Rush zip clutch. MOH was gonna punch someone the way all the reps kept swarming us so we made a beeline for the door as soon as the receipt was popped in the bag. (How cool was that? Two bee puns in one sentence without even trying!) Will definitely do a Scentsation post in the near future :)

The self tan and exfoliating scrub is to prepare myself for lightening my hair even more in the coming weeks, as is the cream bleach. Don’t want any stray black hairs when I’m rocking light caramel locks. And the little pink aerosol (I know, slaps on the wrist for me) is Lee Stafford’s Poker Straight De-Humidifier. I thought I’d see what it was like, hence the smaller can, and OMG, it is a bloomin’ hair style saver! I rocked my hair straight all last week without barely a wave made from the heat. Plus the spray smells lovely and my hair finally looks and feels healthy with a great shine to boot. Poker Straight is officially my Product of the Year. For me, a woman with naturally afro-ish hair (derived from my parents island heritages- Tongan and Jamaican), this product is a godsend. While I love my curls, they are not great to work with everyday (and they’re very heavy and can get hot) so I straighten my hair un-chemically and condition my hair until it can’t take anymore.

Anyhoo, that’s pretty much all I hauled for July although I did manage to pick up some mineral foundation by Covergirl for my new colour scheme (based on my lighter hair). I copped 2 bottles at Coles on sale for $4 each, compared to the original $22 price tag. That same week, I picked up Covergirl’s bronzer and pink blush in the same style for decent prices as well so I have a matching set :) . I somehow lost the photo of that haul. Oh well, til next time!

Shiny New Things: July Haul & BDay Gifts To Moi

I got cracking on the shopping early this month and actually remembered to take some pics (OMG, whatever came over me to do so?)

Plus, I also thought I’d do myself a favour and buy some earrings for myself online instead of waiting for they style I want to appear in Colette, Equip or Diva.

4 Pairs of Earrings

I bought them as a gift to myself for my impending doom, I mean, birthday and timed it just right so they would arrive a few days before. I am totes in love with the brown stone and pearl ones- since getting them the other week, I have worn them to work about five times- now, that’s love!

The next tiny package showed up a couple days after my birthday but in great shape and a second pair of earrings were sent as a bonus gift! Yay! (Did they know it was my birthday?) The teddy bears are the bonus pair. I have a huge love for large stud earrings at the moment (that’s the old lady kickin’ in) and these black sun earrings have a matching ring I want to get as well. Maybe next month, though…

2pr earring and b'let

And the last item is actually my last birthday gift from MOH, a bright silver Guess watch that looks like a bracelet more than a watch. I bought myself one of these type years ago and the battery just stopped working late last year (too lazy to get it changed) and MOH has been looking in many OZ shops to find a similar one to no avail. But now I got another one and this one even has a cute Guess question mark as a charm on the band, too!

Now, my goal is to save up for a gold or rose gold Guess in a similar style. Or settle for the rose gold Michael Kors I’ve lusted over for 2 years…

Shiny New Things: June 2011 Mini Haul

I’m really enjoying posting my hauls here ‘cos I can look back on them and muse at what I liked at a certain time..

The only problem is actually remembering to take pics after purchase. I always forget.

But anyways, onto my fun..

I saw a really good deal on a perfume I have been wanting to replace for ages and mentioned it to MOH. Out of nowhere, he was like “well, let’s got to the city and get it, then”. MOH is the kind of person to have the day planned out from early starts so this was kind of odd.

Anyhoo, got to that store and the price had gone up on the item I wanted and they weren’t honoring the current sale price so I was like “whatevs..” and moved on. MOH ended up being the winner at shopping that day ‘cos he bought a Nintendo 3DS- AGAIN (sold his first one after a fortnight of not using it)…

I didn’t go crazy with any large hauls as I am trying to appreciate what I have at the moment but I did indulge my jewellery collection again. Who knew Big W was kinda stylish? The 3 pieces above were from their themed ranges- Hepburn, Serengeti and Amethyst. I would have bought more but I bought some pieces from Colette a few days before.

I took about 4 days to take that pic and I was bitching myself out about it ‘cos I really wanted to try out my new foundation. I use the soft beige in Rimmel’s Match Perfection (gives solid medium coverage) in the pump dispenser bottle but it now comes in the cream gel format. I’m excited to use it as this will be my first time using a foundation brush to apply, which came free with my purchase- love Priceline, hehe…

Got these from Colette…

Cream & Gold Hoops, Cream/Gold/Black Elastic Bracelets, mini purple bows, Black Spaceship Dangles and my absolute favourite item from June the yellow/cream flower studs! Most were on sale due to it being stocktake season- yay!!! But I would pay full price for almost anything at Colette. The customer service I have experienced there has far exceeded that which I have received at Diva or Equip, and even Groove, formerly known as Grab It. The young ladies are positive, they don’t follow you around and they offer the little trays to help you hold your items as you choose. At any of the other places, I get a quick hi as I enter and nothing ’til I buy… Even then, just a simple ” taking those today?” “12.95″ “Bye for now” ( that was at… nope, I won’t say but you get the picture.)

A couple of eBay purchases finish out the month, unworn but looked at lovingly lots since opening the packages…

The watch was just a cute bunch of colours in one and it was cheap so I figured why not add something colourful to my watch collection, which is pretty much all neutral.

The ring is a different addition to my ring collection. I don’t own any real life object rings so this is my first. I was watching MTV a while ago and it was showing Wiz Khalifa’s video “Roll Up” with Cassie (the former “R&B” singer/whisperer and current Diddy bicycle) as the love interest.

She wore the “I’m Fly” white plane ring by Melody Ehsani, which I plan to purchase as soon as they sort their website out. The ring really completed Cassie’s video look, seeming so effortless. I gots to have… in black and in white :)

Birthday is in 12 days, perhaps MOH will read, eh?

I really wanted an airplane ring so I found the grey silver one with black rhinestones embedded and I loved it right away. It’s not as big as the I’m Fly ring but nonetheless, gorgeous!

That’s it for last month’s shopping. Hopefully, with the impending age day upon me, I will

Lady Times: What’s In My Handbag June 2011

I thought I’d finally get this post out of my head and onto the homepage.

I am a bit of a voyeur when it comes to other ladies handbags. Not for naughty reasons but to discover things I should be carrying “just in case” or something that might make my life a bit easier in the day. I am definitely accident prone- uniform wise. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to run to a store to buy a new pair of pants ‘cos of a big rip I can’t fix on the spot. Once, both my male 2IC and I both ripped our pants in the same week. At the time, when mine happened, I was so broke I just went to the supermarket and bought a staple and stapled my ripped pants back together. Nowadays, I keep safety pins in my handbag and a little extra cash if I need to replace the whole pair of pants. A Tide pen or an OZ version is what I’m on the lookout for, to clean up marks on my clothes, on the go.

Anyway, onto the actual pics…

It’s now Winter, so I have to wear gloves in the morning. It is so freezing when I leave for work and in order to get myself moving, I need my dopi on (only half blast, mind you). Unfortunately, mine is an iPod Touch so you need to have bare hands to use the touchscreen.

Not so, with these North Face gloves. Of slim and sleek design, they have inbuilt index and thumb finger sections that mimic the natural finger texture and allow the user to operate their touchscreen devices in warmth and without hassle. Plus the palm has a grip texture so unless you’re extremely dopey and butterfingered, your device can’t slip out of your hands.

My Handbag Content

Above is what I carry in my everyday handbag.

Umbrella: (how many times have I been caught without one, never again!) It’s quite large and a very dull colour. Each time I’ve purchased a smaller one, it either rusts or breaks after a few uses. This one is pretty hardy.

Filofax: this is a brand I have loved from childhood (thanks to the Baby Sitters Club series) and my interest was again sparked after watching the Olsen twins in New York Minute. My original one used to house my wallet contents as well but I like using a separate purse now, especially when changing to match outfits.

Purse: I got this random purse in Sydney after conference, while awaiting a shuttle back to the airport. Smartly, after our late night gala, I had booked in for a later flight so I could wake up at a decent time and not have to rush around at 7am, with only a few hours of sleep under my belt. A colleague and I went shopping and dining at Harbourside (in Pyrmont) and we went a bit silly, buying up clothes and accessories. I have so many purses now that I am trying to regularly switch them up so I don’t overuse and wreck one. Unfortunately, I did just that with my Anna Sui, which I am pretty pissed about ‘cos it was hot pink and sexy as hell…

Phone: the light pink case hides a Samsung S8300 and attached is a little phone charm I made myself. This is the phone I actually use for calls, the one for photos was the Nokia C6 I used to take this photo- it’s a beauty of a camera and better than my Olympus by a mile.

Strawberry: there’s a lightweight shopping bag inside the strawberry. Cute, huh? Just in case I buy groceries after work, I hate plastic bags because they always break before I get home so this little bag is perfect to fit in my handbag. You can also get this in a little pineapple, too.

Disney Princess pen: for use with my Filofax and numerous times at the post office when people hog the counter pens.

dopi: I am not me without music so it goes without saying why I carry this. Fully loaded with music, film, TV shows, video clips, games and eBooks, I rarely get bored during lunch or time off.

Key set: ummm, duh? I need to get into my home with something. Also, keep PO box key, home mail key and work keys on this lanyard. Two of my fave keychain charms are attached- Sack Boy and Sack Girl. The little black pouch under Sack Boy is usually filled with another mini shopping bag, plus a light charm with the Toy Story alien on it, for when it’s dark and I’m fumbling.

Below is the cosmetic bag contents that also fill my handbag:

I didn’t photograph the bag as it is pretty untidy at the moment. Have to chuck it in the wash, methinks.

Cosmetic Bag contents

Face of Australia compact: as mentioned before, I love this cosmetic brand and their primer is friggin’awesome, especially in humid weather (holds even better in winter). I have FOA blushes, loose powder, nail polish, eyeliner, eyeshadow, eye primer and their facial wipes smelled awesome and removed every last bit of makeup too!

Colette white dome ring: love this ring. Colette Accessories have so many awesome and pretty designs instore, it’s where my ring obsession came about last Xmas. Shall show last week’s mini haul in a post this week sometime.

Harper’s Bazaar brush: not sure why I have this in my bag but I’m sure two brushes are better than one.

Dispenser brush: bought this on eBay and it is heaven sent. I have FOA loose powder in it, for humid days and the brush is made of goat hair. Thinking about buying a second one so I can put FOA bronzer in it, for Summer.

Priceline mini brush: just in case, my hair goes crazy.

Deco mirror and pouch: I got this mirror for free at Priceline during a mini haul and I thought it was the perfect canvas to practice my deco and use some of my newly acquired materials. I spent two days messing around with different designs before I started glueing. The black rhinestones and designer heart are from Yuki‘s site.

White chamois: for my glasses cleaning. They get so dusty during the work day so this is a must.

Hand sanitizer: I use a few times a day. It makes me feel a little healthier and germ free, for all of sixty seconds >_<

Lipbalm: I regularly carry more than one lipbalm, on the notion that I will always misplace one, leave one at work or let one go through the wash. Maybelline Babylips smells beautiful, feels great and I have lost both sticks within a week of receiving them in the mail. I recently found one under my printer so I was happy to stop using my grape Body Shop balm. I normally have Palmer’s Dark Peppermint and Chocolate lip gloss in there too.

Priceline retractable brush: I use this with my FOA compact and it is super soft. Love it so much I bought another one for travel. This was the first thing I ever deco-ed about four months ago and as you can see, after a little wear and useless glue, some of the rhinestones have come off.

Other stuff not pictured: Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb handcream, My Milk Toof notebook, random bracelets, safety pins, lady things, lollies (in case of low blood sugar) and fragrance- I normally switch out everyday but carry a Mariah Carey rollerball at all times, if I forget.

So, that’s moi in a bag. hehe. I think I might do this blog same time next year and see if anything has changed in what I carry.

Thanks for reading, or just looking at the pictures :)

Lady Times & Such: April & May beauty Hauls

Haven’t had one of these in a while but I will make more of an effort, going forward.

April eBay mini shop

Purchased my 1st BB cream, which was pretty nice. I was unsure about the colour matching my skin but as soon as I used it, perfection! I will do a review in a later post as I am currently trying out two types by Skin 79. So far, so good!

Season Color BB Cream

Open Season Color 4 BB Cream

I gotta remember that BB cream has to come off just like other makeup- every now and again, when I am wearing just BB cream, I wonder what would happen if I left it on overnight? Then I just snap myself out of it, things of that nature shouldn’t ever be thought…

Shiny New Things: Mini haul for May 2011

This month, I have a shorter period of AL so less shopping but still fruitful in some ways.

MOH and my 4 year anniversary is coming up next month and I wanted to get him a few little things to show my appreciation and also to extend my savvy online shopping finds to him. MOH’s been using the same boring black dopi cover for months and I wanted to get him something a bit different. I figured if he can be bothered to change his watch and his cologne everyday then changing his dopi cover should be a breeze.

Here’s what I got him (and one for me too)

Crocodile Brown Cover

Shiny New Things: New Stuff For Moi April 2011

So, I figured I’ll only post actual shopping here and throw beauty stuff in the Lady Times section just to even the posts out among the two. (Mind you, I may mess up because I photograph hauls altogether so it might overlap.)

I finally bit the bullet and bought a new bag off of the Oz Sale website. It’s a GUESS dome traveller bag in black and Guess’ signature G print, model named Candice (if I remember correctly).

When I viewed it on the website, I had not idea it would be so big or that it was pretty comparable to a cabin bag. It took a few weeks to get here and when it did- it said New Zealand on the postage info. (So OZ Sale don’t only pull stock from Australia?) MOH brought it home from the post office and he had no clue about what it was. The box was bigger than you get vacuums packed in! Nevertheless, a beautiful bag. I used it two or three times before I decided I couldn’t use this for work- it was just too gigantic so I switched back to an old Ruby & Kit for the time being.

Luckily, I found a bag that I loved on sight.

Perfect size for work, pretty durable and the handles are very sturdy. Plus it doesn’t look like any of my other bags.

Deco USB Case

Deco Desk Lamp Console- Work In Progress

Got a little nuts buying up rhinestones and half pearls for my silly deco addiction. I’ve only done a couple things so far- my desk lamp console, my cotton buds container and my Lexar USB case.

MOH’s big bro stayed with us for a few days during my last set of Annual Leave and upon his departure, left MOH and I some clothes. MOH’s items were awesome and totally hit the nail on the head. The same can definitely be said of his choices for me too.

House of Dereon Military top

Military top by House of Dereon. Really like this brand and the clothes fit well- MOH got me some Dereon stuff last Christmas. You can’t really buy official Dereon in OZ so the Dereon and Dr Jays websites are the way to go.

Capri by Dereon

Capri jeans by House of Dereon. Love ‘em as much as the Applebottom Capris that MOH got me for Xmas.

Beautiful Ghost sweater from Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier. While it is a bit long in the arm, I really like it. I know Ed Hardy seems so gaudy and flashy (quite possibly due to the Jersey Shore cast’s obsession with the brand). This will most likely be my only piece from the fashion house and that suits me just fine.

MOH and I went to the city at some point and bought a couple of t-shirts from Jay Jays. MOH got a Domo Kun and I got the Spongebob one. Love it! (Shoulda worn it to Dreamworld!) The material on Jay Jays t-shirts is not bad at all. I don’t wear these kind of t-shirts all the time so they don’t get ruined easily via stretching, shrinkage, image peeling or becoming transparent after a few washes.

And the obligatory food pics ‘cos we ate so much crap last AL. My fault, entirely ‘cos I dislike cooking.

Maccas have these new drinks. Can’t remember the name of them but yummy!

2 in 1 Japanese Bakery totally does it for me. Their Seaweed Pizza is so good- I love salt and it’s full of it! The yellow and pink things are called Custard Platypus or Platypi, if we’re talking plurals. The corn bun on the top right is okay in my book but MOH likes it better. The one below it is a hotdog roll, pretty yummy. I think the one closest to me is a curry bun for MOH and the one right in the middle is a pork bun- the topping is finely shredded and thinned out pork, as thin as hair! When you scrunch a bite of it up with the sauce under the pork hair, it tastes just like bacon. Reminds me of molecular gastronomy- where you reduce a food down into the very least of its existence only to enhance it in a unique way to reproduce the original item of food.

2 in 1 have reduced the amount of fat/grease in their items recently which is fantastic. I didn’t like eating too much of the freshly baked goods before because they were often super greasy and you could tell from the fat soaked paper bags, that while it was gonna taste good, it ain’t gonna look good…

Cadbury Mousse

I was feeling a bit down and out of it last AL and MOH, being the supersweetie that he is, trekked to the supermarket and bought me back this new chocolate by Cadbury, a new nail polish (Black Out by Rimmel- how did he know?) and some Women’s Multi Vitamins.

Anyway, I don’t think I bought a great deal more other than packing materials and some basic clothing staples.

Stay tuned for May hauls as it’s only half way through the month and I have plenty to show for it!

Shiny New Things: Bits and Pieces

Imagine my surprise when I opened up the post office box and received some goodies I’d forgotten I’d ordered/entered comps for! Especially, since I was out to post some eBay items and do a random shop..

I received the new Maybelline Baby Lips in Antioxidant Berry, in the mail. I actually ended up with two because MOH let me in on the deal he found on one of his gaming discount sites and it was stated we could get more than one sent to the same household. We’ll see how awesome my lips become after 4 weeks of using Baby Lips…

Mixed Haulage

Got my Hello Kitty sleeping mask in the mail- it’s huge but should do the job. My Oscar the Grouch just isn’t up to the job anymore. As I’m getting older, I have noticed my eyes hurt in the morning from sleeping with my eyes only lightly closed. An eye mask usually keeps my eyes closed better and my eyes don’t feel so dry when I awaken.

From the same eBay seller, I also got a new handy bag that I can hook up to my keys- I hate carrying those huge WW or Coles bags around in my handbag. I also got the matching white belt to the one I bought from an Aussie seller a few weeks back, for about 3 quarters less the price. Something tells me I gotta shop around a bit more before I commit to spending my eBay dinero.

Like the other day, I rocked up to Kmart for some more packing materials and found myself in the cosmetic section- AGAIN!

Nothing caught my eye except for a couple of familiar things I’d been reading about- some limited edition nail polishes from FOA. If I had not looked high and low and carefully through all of the aisles, I totally would have missed them. They were high up on an unrelated shelf, inside a nondescript basket full of clearance items. Picked up Minty Mojito and Lemon Sorbet for 4 bucks each. Hopefully, they look as great on me as they have on other bloggers who have tried them.

Not pictured: I got another tank top for a buck fifty, some long pants for work and a khaki green batwing top. I’m not for exposing my arms as much so long sleeved lightweight tops are at the top of my shopping list these days.

Bargain hunter much? I’m planning on going lighter with my hair again and getting it right this time. Target had 25% off on cosmetics and fragrances so I got these boxes of dye for- wait for it- $4.40 each! I believe the packaging is being discontinued so it was discounted for that fact first and then the 25% off after that. Nice!

This first week of AL has been good to me. I will be getting around to the drinking part of my AL plan tomorrow as I got the bottle of Kahlua I needed for a White Russian today while on my mini shop (weirdly, MOH didn’t object when I asked him if he would like to try it out- he’s totes not a drinker).

Til next time… geez, I can’t believe it- I didn’t go anywhere near Priceline. Fail or win? My wallet says WIN!
