I thought I’d finally get this post out of my head and onto the homepage.
I am a bit of a voyeur when it comes to other ladies handbags. Not for naughty reasons but to discover things I should be carrying “just in case” or something that might make my life a bit easier in the day. I am definitely accident prone- uniform wise. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to run to a store to buy a new pair of pants ‘cos of a big rip I can’t fix on the spot. Once, both my male 2IC and I both ripped our pants in the same week. At the time, when mine happened, I was so broke I just went to the supermarket and bought a staple and stapled my ripped pants back together. Nowadays, I keep safety pins in my handbag and a little extra cash if I need to replace the whole pair of pants. A Tide pen or an OZ version is what I’m on the lookout for, to clean up marks on my clothes, on the go.
Anyway, onto the actual pics…
It’s now Winter, so I have to wear gloves in the morning. It is so freezing when I leave for work and in order to get myself moving, I need my dopi on (only half blast, mind you). Unfortunately, mine is an iPod Touch so you need to have bare hands to use the touchscreen.

Not so, with these North Face gloves. Of slim and sleek design, they have inbuilt index and thumb finger sections that mimic the natural finger texture and allow the user to operate their touchscreen devices in warmth and without hassle. Plus the palm has a grip texture so unless you’re extremely dopey and butterfingered, your device can’t slip out of your hands.

My Handbag Content
Above is what I carry in my everyday handbag.
Umbrella: (how many times have I been caught without one, never again!) It’s quite large and a very dull colour. Each time I’ve purchased a smaller one, it either rusts or breaks after a few uses. This one is pretty hardy.
Filofax: this is a brand I have loved from childhood (thanks to the Baby Sitters Club series) and my interest was again sparked after watching the Olsen twins in New York Minute. My original one used to house my wallet contents as well but I like using a separate purse now, especially when changing to match outfits.
Purse: I got this random purse in Sydney after conference, while awaiting a shuttle back to the airport. Smartly, after our late night gala, I had booked in for a later flight so I could wake up at a decent time and not have to rush around at 7am, with only a few hours of sleep under my belt. A colleague and I went shopping and dining at Harbourside (in Pyrmont) and we went a bit silly, buying up clothes and accessories. I have so many purses now that I am trying to regularly switch them up so I don’t overuse and wreck one. Unfortunately, I did just that with my Anna Sui, which I am pretty pissed about ‘cos it was hot pink and sexy as hell…
Phone: the light pink case hides a Samsung S8300 and attached is a little phone charm I made myself. This is the phone I actually use for calls, the one for photos was the Nokia C6 I used to take this photo- it’s a beauty of a camera and better than my Olympus by a mile.
Strawberry: there’s a lightweight shopping bag inside the strawberry. Cute, huh? Just in case I buy groceries after work, I hate plastic bags because they always break before I get home so this little bag is perfect to fit in my handbag. You can also get this in a little pineapple, too.
Disney Princess pen: for use with my Filofax and numerous times at the post office when people hog the counter pens.
dopi: I am not me without music so it goes without saying why I carry this. Fully loaded with music, film, TV shows, video clips, games and eBooks, I rarely get bored during lunch or time off.
Key set: ummm, duh? I need to get into my home with something. Also, keep PO box key, home mail key and work keys on this lanyard. Two of my fave keychain charms are attached- Sack Boy and Sack Girl. The little black pouch under Sack Boy is usually filled with another mini shopping bag, plus a light charm with the Toy Story alien on it, for when it’s dark and I’m fumbling.
Below is the cosmetic bag contents that also fill my handbag:
I didn’t photograph the bag as it is pretty untidy at the moment. Have to chuck it in the wash, methinks.
Cosmetic Bag contents
Face of Australia compact: as mentioned before, I love this cosmetic brand and their primer is friggin’awesome, especially in humid weather (holds even better in winter). I have FOA blushes, loose powder, nail polish, eyeliner, eyeshadow, eye primer and their facial wipes smelled awesome and removed every last bit of makeup too!
Colette white dome ring: love this ring. Colette Accessories have so many awesome and pretty designs instore, it’s where my ring obsession came about last Xmas. Shall show last week’s mini haul in a post this week sometime.
Harper’s Bazaar brush: not sure why I have this in my bag but I’m sure two brushes are better than one.
Dispenser brush: bought this on eBay and it is heaven sent. I have FOA loose powder in it, for humid days and the brush is made of goat hair. Thinking about buying a second one so I can put FOA bronzer in it, for Summer.
Priceline mini brush: just in case, my hair goes crazy.
Deco mirror and pouch: I got this mirror for free at Priceline during a mini haul and I thought it was the perfect canvas to practice my deco and use some of my newly acquired materials. I spent two days messing around with different designs before I started glueing. The black rhinestones and designer heart are from Yuki‘s site.
White chamois: for my glasses cleaning. They get so dusty during the work day so this is a must.
Hand sanitizer: I use a few times a day. It makes me feel a little healthier and germ free, for all of sixty seconds >_<
Lipbalm: I regularly carry more than one lipbalm, on the notion that I will always misplace one, leave one at work or let one go through the wash. Maybelline Babylips smells beautiful, feels great and I have lost both sticks within a week of receiving them in the mail. I recently found one under my printer so I was happy to stop using my grape Body Shop balm. I normally have Palmer’s Dark Peppermint and Chocolate lip gloss in there too.
Priceline retractable brush: I use this with my FOA compact and it is super soft. Love it so much I bought another one for travel. This was the first thing I ever deco-ed about four months ago and as you can see, after a little wear and useless glue, some of the rhinestones have come off.
Other stuff not pictured: Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb handcream, My Milk Toof notebook, random bracelets, safety pins, lady things, lollies (in case of low blood sugar) and fragrance- I normally switch out everyday but carry a Mariah Carey rollerball at all times, if I forget.
So, that’s moi in a bag. hehe. I think I might do this blog same time next year and see if anything has changed in what I carry.
Thanks for reading, or just looking at the pictures
